The Enchanted Room... by sophos9 The Enchanted Room... by sophos9
The Enchanted Room

Enchanted due to the experience we had getting there.

I had flown from the UK to Schipol, Holland met up with some awesome friends then drove through the night to Beelitz, Germany. We arrived a sunrise and went straight into the location to start the photo shoot.

The light was amazing that time of the morning - cold, hungry and tired we found the most amazing places to shoot.

Daily Deviation

Given 2014-07-24
The title of this deviation is very apt. This room, forgotten and lost, is enchanting as well as eerie.

This looks like maybe Lestat's home in Interview with the Vampire just after it burned down, or maybe the home he was in towards the end.

Perfect shot, imo! The decrepit environment really allows the mind to wonder and imagine what sort of stories are hidden in the room's bones. :)

I'm planning to go here in about a year as well as other abandoned places in Germany. Was there any security to get past here, or was it generally open to explore? Were there squatters or any other people inside?

Anyway, really nice photograph, and a rare example of how to use post-production properly without making the photo look like a video game environment. :)
